This weekend I was very thrilled to combine my Free The Children fundraising, with my MTC-W Toronto Trip fundraising!

For Free The Children, I have been fundraising by selling Cookie Crumbles products! All delegates in the Miss Teen Canada – World competition are required to raise a minimum of $400 for Free The Children. I think that this is a great way for the delegates to show their fundraising skills, while having a blast fundraising for a very deserving charity. Before I found Cookie Crumbles, I had a Banana Split Sale at my school, and that had a great turnout. When I first started fundraising, I knew that I wanted to do a few things for Free The Children, instead of one, for various reasons. One being that by having a variety of fundraisers, there is bound to be something that everyone enjoys.

When I got home from my second final exam on Friday, I started setting up my Garage Sale. I want to give a shout out to two very kind people who donated numerous items for my sale, it definitely helped a lot! So a big thank you to Jill Shantz of J Shantz Photography, and one of my Mum’s friends; Vicki. Also, a thank you to my neighbour Val, who donated tables for me to setup my sale!

When I was about halfway through setup, the sky suddenly turned dark, and it started to rain! But I wasn’t going to let a little rain bring me down! I even had someone come 15 minutes before I opened, in the rain!

The weekend was a great success, I raised quite a bit of money for Free The Children from Cookie Crumbles, and it was really fun!

Thanks to everyone who came out, or donated items!

Thank you for reading!
