Hello everyone!

First off, I would like to introduce myself for those who haven’t met me, and for those who already have, here is some information that you may or may not know yet!

The following biography is the one that was published in the provincial competition for Alberta:

“Vanessa is a goal-oriented, humble young lady with a strong desire to change the world.  Her belief in her ability to do so has never been naive, as she has already spent countless hours working with children with developmental disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, and Autism in an effort to teach them independent living skills for their futures.  She finds inspiration in the simplicity of their happiness, and hopes that others can find light in their non-judgmental perspective of life.  She has also volunteered with kids in a local summer reading program, elderly people with severe illnesses, and is a volunteer tutor for the full spectrum of high school subjects.  This year, she will be flying down to New Orleans to help rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and has played a key role in raising nearly $40 000 for this cause.  At the age of sixteen, she started up her own website in which she travels around Canada and the United States to interview a wide range of bands from different genres.  Vanessa encompasses the perfect image of beauty and brains combined in one cheerful, humble package.  This summer she has applied to work at the U of A Hospital in either neuroscience or cardiology, and has plans for receiving her PhD in Psychology after completing high school.  After suffering from a severe case of anorexia nervosa, anxiety, and depression, her main goal is to be a helping hand to those suffering from eating disorders, along with spreading awareness about the illness and it’s complications.  She is willing to face any challenges that may confront her in this journey, and is ecstatic to be given such a wonderful opportunity.”

I would like to thank all of you for your ongoing support, and I assure you that you will be seeing more of me in the future! Our sponsor Shasha Bread Co., provided excellent healthy snacks for us to consume at the Miss Teen Canada pageant, and thanks to the help of the Internet marketing firm PageOne with this blog. Thanks!

Have a great day!
